Usage of cosmid map
In this page, a map in which location of genes are depicted locates on the
left, and in-situ hybridization images locate on the right.
- map
In the map, the following objects are depicted.
- cosmid : red box
A cosmid clone is depicted by a vertical red box.
- CDS : blue box
Predicted genes (CDSs) are depicted by vertical blue boxes. The exons are
drawn by boxes, and introns are drawn by vertical lines. Genes on direct
strand are drawn on the left side of the cosmid, and genes on complementary
strand are drawn on the right.
A red string on the CDS box shows CDS number. Black strings around the CDS
box show corresponding cDNA clone groups (CELKxxxxx).
- transcribed gene : green box
Genes identified by EST evidences are depicted by vertical green boxes.
The exons are drawn by boxes, and introns are drawn by vertical lines.
Genes on direct strand are drawn on the left side of the cosmid, and genes
on complementary strand are drawn on the right.
A red string on the gene box shows its name.
If you click one of the CDS boxes, precise report of the selected gene
is displayed.
- in-situ images
Thumbnail images of in-situ hybridization are arranged by genes. By clicking
a thumbnail, a full size image can be seen.
- change map size
Users can change the graphic size of the map. Type width and height
by dot number to fields on the bottom of the area map page, and then
click "go" button. This affects to map only, so that in-situ hybridization
images are unchanged.
